the BIG idea is to host an academic quiz bee
with the hope of making it an annual event in our town.

I. REASONS
1. i miss my high school days while realizing that i'm not getting any younger;
2. since i qualified for MENSA Phil (some 10 years ago), i've been dreaming on doing something for the less fortunates (education/learning-wise);
3. when i finally got to pay my membership dues last year (August 2006), i got excited and dreamt again big dreams for the community;
4. all of my co-Mensans are Manila-based and my search for co-Mensans in Pampanga didn't give me results, i stopped dreaming; UNTIL
II. PREPARATIONS/PLANNING
5. one day, i started to draft the following:
- invitation letter
- registration form
- rules and regulations
- contest logo
- permission letter/s
6. then i started to visualize the day itself;
7. i compiled the names of the principals stationed in all 20+ public elementary schools in our town
8. started on the questions to have
9. planned on the prizes and even drafted the certificates of participation and recognition, BUT
III. PROBLEMS MET
10. i don't have all the finance i'd be needing for
- cash prizes
- trophies and medals
- snacks
- chairs and tables to be used
11. all my friends who are qualified to be the judge/s and/or quizmaster/s are all busy with their career / profession / work SO
I AM BACK TO DAY 1 WITH JUST A BIG IDEA IN MY HEAD, only now, with rough materials on hand and a more determined heart to push this thing through. wish me luck! ΓΌ
